Debbie McCoy has over 15 years of experience in private/semi private tutoring as well as teaching in small class settings. She has taught all grade levels using a variety of learning modalities that focus on critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, social and personal skills, and teamwork.
Having come from a family of educators, she developed a love for learning and teaching at a young age.
Debbie is passionate about encouraging young learners to progress and thrive while they maintain enjoyment of the learning process. She sincerely believes that fostering a love for learning is a critical part of the academic equation. Helping children to feel empowered and encouraged, and to think actively and creatively, opens their minds to receive new ideas and concepts that ultimately lead to greater academic success. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology.
She is a Certified Holistic Health Consultant and has taught health and nutrition classes in preschools throughout the Irvine area. She has also taught ESL to international students and has hosted international students in her home for many years, enjoying experiences with a variety of different cultures.
